Indonesia announced its intention of hosting an intrernational meeting to select the New7 Wonders in 2011.

Sapta Nirwandar,the tourism and culture ministry’s director general said that Indonesia has an interest in the evebt as one of the country’s tourist destinations,Komodo National Park,was a finalist in the New 7 Wonders of Nature selection process.

He said  that Indonesia will be promoted through the event. The ministry also planned to relaunch the”Vote Komodo for New7Wonders of Nature” promotion in various places.

Currently,the Komodo National Park is among the top 28 finalist in the.

The Komodo rating is fluctuationg but it’s still high. Other competitors include the Sundarbans in India and Bangladesh,the black forest in Germany,and the Amazon rainforest.

The New7Wonders will be officially announced in 2011.
